We all have those days where we just don’t want to move from our comfy beds. Sometimes there are things we can do that can help us feel motivated in the morning so that we actually get ourselves up. I came up with 6 ways which you can do this a few months ago, so if you haven’t read that go check it out here. If you have read that one, but maybe you need some more help, here is our second list of 6 ways to find morning motivation:
1. Open your curtains/blinds
Either before you go to bed or as soon as you wake up in the morning, open up your curtains to let some light into the room. If your room is dark when you wake up it will be so much harder to get out of bed because your body may still think it is night time. Opening those curtains could do you a world of good.
2. Move your alarm away from your bed
Instead of leaving your alarm next to your bed, move it away so that when it goes off in the morning you can’t reach it from your bed. This will force you to actually get out of bed in order to turn it off. Once your up you’ll just have to resist the urge to get back into bed.
3. Turn electronics off when you go to sleep
Most of us like to check social media, watch TV, check the news etc. before bed, but this actually affects your sleep. If you go to bed immediately after using electronics your brain may stay active for a while and you may not get a good nights sleep, which can leave you feeling extremely tired the next day.
4. Create a bedtime and morning routine
Creating a bedtime routine will let your body know that it is time for sleep and you will have a much better nights sleep. Follow this up with a morning routine and you may find it much easier to get yourself out of bed without being too tired and grumpy.
5. Drink a glass of water
You sleep for a long time at night, so when you wake you’ll be dehydrated. Get yourself a glass of water as soon as you wake up and your body will soon be feeling refreshed, less fatigued and you’ll be ready for the day ahead.
6. Get out of bed straight away
If you take some of the advice above, you should already be doing this one, but as soon as you wake up just force yourself to get out of bed. If you lie there for even just a few minutes you might find yourself falling back to sleep. I’m sure a lot of you have said to yourself “just 5 more minutes”, and then you end up waking up an hour later, or even more.
I hope these tips help some of you feel a bit more motivated in a morning, because it’s so important we wake up in a good mood in order to have a good day. Let us know what you think of this list, and let us know of any methods you use to get motivated every morning.
